| Great picture! It is difficult to say whether it is a grizzly or a black bear.The pointed ears would suggest a black bear as a grizzly tends to have more rounded ears. The colour is not a good indication as I'm sure you are aware, especially in Waterton where the majority of our "black" bears are not black incolour. The size, roughness of coat, and visible hump in the shoulders would suggest a grizzly bear. As I said, it is difficult to say for sure, but I think you can honestly say you think you have a picture of a grizzly bear.Waterton Lakes Nationalpark |
